National President of the Rajput Karni Sena, Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, was shot dead by criminals in his office in Shyam Nagar. The incident occurred around 1:20 pm. About 10 minutes before the incident, three individuals came to meet Gogamedi, one of whom was acquainted with him (Navin Shekhawat). They were sitting on a sofa, engaged in a conversation when suddenly two of the three youths started firing indiscriminately.
Gogamedi was seriously injured in the shooting. During this, the youth who had come to meet Gogamedi through Navin Shekhawat was also shot. He succumbed to the gunshot, leading to his death. Subsequently, the fleeing criminals also fired at Gogamedi’s guard, Ajit Singh, who was also injured. After the incident, Gogamedi was taken to Metro Mass Hospital in Mansarovar, where he was declared dead during treatment. Meanwhile, guard Ajit Singh is undergoing treatment at the hospital. On the other hand, gangster Rohit Godara, associated with Lawrence, has claimed responsibility for the murder and shared the post on social media.
Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated, “Two of the three youths who came to meet Gogamedi fired shots and fled. While one youth, Navin Singh Shekhawat, died at the scene. He was a resident of Shahpura and ran a clothing business in Jaipur. The police have CCTV footage related to all the accused and the incident. The two fleeing suspects are being searched.” Joseph said that the criminals would be arrested soon.
Criminals were captured on CCTV
According to the police, the assailants who committed the murder had brought Navin Singh Shekhawat, an acquaintance of Gogamedi, with them. According to the security guard Narendra, Navin came to meet Gogamedi first. After that, Gogamedi called Navin inside to meet. Two assailants also went inside with Navin.
After talking for a while, the assailants started firing at Gogamedi. They also shot Navin. In the police investigation, it was revealed that the assailants had brought a sword with them. This sword was purchased from a shop in Khadipura. The incident was captured on CCTV.
After the incident, another CCTV footage outside the house surfaced. In this, it was seen that the guards became alert outside the house. However, to escape the bullets, they moved aside. During this, the criminals shot one guard and fled.
Attempted robbery with a pistol after firing
After the firing, the criminals attempted to stop a car by showing a pistol to escape the crime scene. However, as soon as the pistol was brandished, the driver sped away with the car. Meanwhile, a youth named Amit, riding a scooter from behind, was targeted by the criminals and shot, and the assailants fled with the scooter. The police acknowledge that the criminals executed the attack systematically. Approximately 17 rounds of firing were carried out at the scene. The police have collected evidence from the site.
Gangster Rohit Godara posted a message on social media
After the incident, responsibility for the murder has been claimed on a Facebook page created under the name of gangster Rohit Godara. The post reads, “Ram-Ram, all brothers, I am Rohit Godara Kapoorisar, Goldie Barar. Brothers, today, the murder of Sukhdev Gogamedi happened. We take full responsibility for this. We orchestrated this murder. I want to tell you all that he used to collaborate with our enemies. He worked to strengthen them. Speaking of enemies, they should prepare their funeral at their doorstep. We will meet them soon.”
Jaipur will remain shut today
Following the murder of Gogamedi, people from the Rajput community have initiated a protest outside the Metro Mass Hospital. This demonstration continued late into the night. The community members state that the protest will persist until the culprits are apprehended. Protests have been initiated in several other districts of the state. A call for a Jaipur shutdown was announced by the entire society on Wednesday. Alongside this, a stern warning has been issued for an intense protest concerning the incident. National Coordinator of Karni Sena, Ajit Singh Mamdoli, mentioned that if the accused are not swiftly apprehended, Karni Sena will launch a massive movement in the state.
Governor Speaks to DGP Over the Phone
After the incident, Governor Kalraj Mishra had a telephone conversation with DGP Umesh Mishra, seeking information. He also directed to ensure law and order in the state. He stated that stringent action should be taken against any wrongdoer. The Governor has specially instructed the police administration to take effective and efficient steps for the safety and peace of the general public.
However, those participating in the protest claim that Gogamedi had previously requested security from police officials, which was not provided. In light of this, people are demanding action against negligent police personnel.
Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra said, “Stringent security checks have been implemented to apprehend the murderers. Police officers have been instructed to prompt action. Special vigilance and increased security measures have been directed in related districts. The culprits will soon be in police custody. Everyone is urged to maintain peace and patience.”
