Sachin Pilot supporter and Congress candidate from Chaksu, MLA Ved Prakash Solanki, has been sentenced to one year in prison and fined Rs 55 lakh in the bounced cheque case. This decision was pronounced on Wednesday by Behror ACJM-3 Judge Nikhil Singh.
According to the information, the case is eight years old. At that time, Solanki was working on property deals in Bansur in the Kotputli-Bahrod district. During this period, he took Rs 35 lahks in cash from a retired PTI from the Education Department on the pretext of selling a plot. Later, due to not being able to provide the plot, he handed over a bounced cheque of Rs35 lakh. When the cheque bounced, the aggrieved party filed a case. According to advocate Bhupendra Kumar Prajapati, Mohar Singh, a resident of Hulmana Khurd in the Mundawar area (Alwar), had good relations with Ved Prakash Solanki. Solanki had told the PTI that he would provide them with a plot in Bansur at a discounted rate and in a good location. For this, he showed them several pieces of land. A deal was finalised over a plot between the two.

On June 20, 2015, Mohar Singh gave Rs 35 lakh to Solanki for the plot. After many days of not being able to provide the plot, Mohar Singh mentioned the return of the money. In response, Solanki gave a cheque to Axis Bank located in Mansarovar, Jaipur, on September 10, 2015. When the cheque bounced, Mohar Singh demanded the return of the money and informed about the bounced cheque on October 30, 2015. After that, this case went to court.

On the other hand, eight months after the case reached the court, Solanki filed a case of cheque fraud on July 8, 2016, in his defence. This case is still pending at Pratap Nagar police station in Jaipur. The Pratap Nagar police had also submitted a petition in the Behror court to take the original cheque.

Even after the resignation, the remaining amount was not deposited, witnessing the increasing case, on October 9, 2019, MLA Solanki reached a settlement with Mohar Singh. An agreement was made to return Rs 24 lakh on stamp paper. This stamped paper was also submitted to the court. It was stated in it that in case of non-repayment of the amount within three months, legal proceedings would continue.

Three months after the settlement, Solanki did not return the money. In this situation, the court ordered the deposit of the amount on November 4, 2023, through a bank draft of Rs 27,31,194. After this, the remaining amount was not deposited by Solanki. The hearing of the case took place on the 125th day in court. Solanki has one month to appeal the case in another court.

If the appeal is dismissed, along with the sentence, the victim will also have to return the amount. Meanwhile, Ved Prakash Solanki has shared his statement on social media through a video, clarifying his position in the case. Discussions about this matter are also taking place in the legislative assembly constituency.
