Rahul Makes Surprise Visit to Haryana’s Karnal Village

Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, once again surprised everyone on Friday with a sudden visit to poll-bound Haryana, where he met the family of a youth he had encountered during his US visit.

According to party leaders, Rahul Gandhi, the former Congress president, arrived in Haryana’s Karnal district to meet the family of Amit Kumar, who was injured in an accident in the US and has been hospitalized since.

Rahul Gandhi had met Amit during his recent trip to the US and promised to visit his family after returning to India.

Party sources claimed that Rahul Gandhi visited Ghogripur village in Karnal around 5 a.m.

The sources also mentioned that the Congress leader spoke to Amit in the US via video call from his home in Haryana.

Rahul Gandhi’s unexpected visit to poll-bound Haryana led to hundreds of people gathering outside Amit’s house to greet him.

Rahul Gandhi had visited the US on September 7 and returned to India on September 14.

This isn’t the first time Rahul Gandhi has made surprise visits. In May last year, he took a truck ride from Murthal to Ambala, where he met with truck drivers to discuss their issues.

He also visited Sonipat, Haryana, in June last year and helped sow paddy crops with farmers. Later, he invited these farmers and their families to his residence in Delhi for lunch, where they met his mother, CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, and his sister, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

According to party sources, Rahul Gandhi will kick off his political campaign in Haryana either on September 22 or 23.

The party is planning a massive public rally in central Haryana, where Priyanka Gandhi is also scheduled to speak alongside her brother. The final schedule is being worked out.

Polling for the 90-member Haryana assembly is scheduled for October 5, with vote counting on October 8.

The Congress is aiming for a comeback in the state, where it has been out of power for the last 10 years, while the BJP is striving for a third consecutive term in office.
