Prince William Shares the One Issue That Would Have ‘Disappointed’ Princess Diana If She Were Alive

Prince William recently expressed that his mother, Princess Diana, would have been deeply disappointed by the ongoing stigma surrounding homelessness if she were alive today. Known for her humanitarian efforts, Princess Diana’s legacy lives on through William, who continues her work advocating for the homeless. Diana tragically passed away in 1997 at the age of 36, and William often wishes she were still here to meet his wife and children.

Following in his mother’s footsteps, Prince William has become a strong advocate for homeless people. He participated in Comic Relief’s campaign for the homeless, highlighting that his mother introduced him to this cause at a young age. He stated, “I think she would be disappointed that we are still no further on in terms of tackling homelessness and preventing it than when she was interested and involved in it.”

Devoted to carrying on Diana’s mission, William serves as a patron for organizations like The Centrepoint and The Passage, which support homeless youth. He has studied homelessness closely and even spent time on the streets with a Big Issue vendor in 2022 to better understand the issue. He believes in using his platform to spotlight this “solvable issue” and aims to bring attention to those struggling.

William also hopes to pass on this commitment to his children, George, Charlotte, and Louis. He plans to involve them in the cause, just as his mother did with him. In 2023, he launched the Homeward project, which aims to eradicate homelessness within five years and shift public perception of the issue by 2024.
