While Prince Harry faces legal struggles regarding his security arrangements with The Firm, he seems to be in good standing with US authorities on the matter.
On Wednesday, the Duke of Sussex visited the well-known East Side Ink tattoo shop in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The shop is famous for its celebrity clientele, including the original Avengers stars Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, and Jeremy Renner, all of whom got matching tattoos by artist Joshua Lord.
However, insiders revealed to Page Six that Harry didn’t get a tattoo. Instead, he was there for a promotional event related to an upcoming project. His visit to the shop lasted just over an hour, beginning at around 1 pm.
Prince Harry’s Security Detail in NYC
Photos shared by the media showed Harry, 40, accompanied by a small security team during his visit. One of the security officers was reportedly a New York Police Department official assigned to him during his time in New York City. Additionally, two NYPD cars provided extra security, positioning themselves in front and behind the tattoo shop.
This heightened security follows a “near-catastrophic” two-hour car chase in 2023 when aggressive paparazzi pursued Harry, Meghan Markle, and her mother, Doria Ragland, in Manhattan, as reported by The New York Post.
Solo Adventures Continue for Prince Harry
Reports last month suggested that Harry would return to New York City in September. His representative confirmed that this solo trip aims to support various causes he is passionate about, such as African Parks, The HALO Trust, The Diana Award, and Travalyst.
His visit coincides with the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week and Climate Week. Beyond New York, Harry will head to the UK later this month to present an award at the annual WellChild Awards on September 30.
Despite the busy schedule, Prince Harry‘s trip wasn’t all about work. His visit to East Side Ink was part of a fun-filled day in New York. Earlier in the day, he reportedly filmed a segment for The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, visiting a haunted house alongside the late-night host. The prince wore the same outfit for both his tattoo shop and television appearances.
