On Thursday, President Joe Biden received a customized Boston Celtics jersey during the team’s visit to the White House. The jersey had his name and the number 46, representing his presidency.
Jayson Tatum, the Celtics’ power forward, handed Biden the special jersey. Along with it, Biden was given a commemorative basketball.

Biden started his speech with a lighthearted joke, saying, “I don’t know any of the guys behind me, but they just showed up.” He then congratulated the team, coaches, staff, fans, and Massachusetts officials on winning the Celtics’ 18th NBA championship.
The president praised the Celtics for creating one of the deepest teams in NBA history. He recognized players like Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Al Horford. “You put in the work, and clocked one of the greatest seasons ever,” Biden said.
After his speech, Biden tossed the new basketball to Horford, adding a fun moment to the event. It showed the lighter side of the celebration.
