Charanjit Singh Channi, the former Chief Minister of Punjab, accused that the terror attack in Poonch was meticulously planned, suggesting it was a political maneuver to benefit the BJP in the upcoming elections.
He condemned what he termed as “stuntbaazi,” insinuating that such incidents are orchestrated to sway electoral outcomes. According to Channi, these attacks are strategically timed to bolster the BJP’s electoral prospects, dismissing them as premeditated actions devoid of authenticity.
He criticized the BJP for what he perceived as callous disregard for human life, attributing political motives even to tragic events. The Indian Air Force mourned the loss of Corporal Vikky Pahade, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the attack, expressing condolences and solidarity with his family.
Security measures have been intensified in Poonch, with heightened scrutiny of vehicles in the area. The timing of the attack, just before the Lok Sabha elections in the Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, raises concerns about potential political implications.
It’s reminiscent of previous accusations leveled against the BJP for exploiting incidents like the 2019 Pulwama terror attack and subsequent airstrikes at Balakot to gain electoral advantage, as alleged by the opposition.
