Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi is set to Inaugurate and lay the foundation of 84 developmental projects worth Rs. 1,500 crore in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

As per PMO release, the inauguration of projects will most likely include projects related to road infrastructure, schemes related to water supply and infrastructure related to higher education.

In addition, PM Modi will also lay foundation for projects related to the improvement of Chenani-Patnitop-Nashri Section, the construction of Industrial Estates and of six Government Degree Colleges.

The Prime minister is also set to inaugurate competitive improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors (JKCIP) Project worth Rs 1,800 crore. The project will be implemented in 90 Blocks covering 20 districts of J&k, providing outreach to 300,000 households and involving 15 lakh beneficiaries.

During his visit, PM Modi will also attend ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event, going to be held at Sher-I-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.

During this event, the prime minister will also interact with young achievers from union territory and will examine the stalls.

Besides inaugurating the developmental projects, PM Modi will also issue appointments letters to more than 2000 people in government service.

Meanwhile, ahead of the visit, a multi-tier security arrangement has been established. Moreover, the Srinagar police has declared the city a ‘Temporary Red Zone’ for drones and quadcopters.

As per officials, all the unauthorized drone activities within the Red Zone will be subjected to penalties under the appropriate provisions of the Drone Rules, 2021.
