PM Modi pays tribute to Birsa Munda on his birth anniversary. PM Modi highlighted his contributions in freedom movement and fighting to protect the interests of the tribal society and called him a “great son of the country”.

He was not only the hero of our political independence, but he was also the conductor of our spiritual and cultural energy. Birsa Munda belonged to Munda Tribe. In the late 19th century, during the British rule, Munda led the ndian tribal religious Millenarian movement across the tribal belt of modern-day Bihar and Jharkhand.
