PM Modi Arrives in Kanyakumari’s Vivekananda Memorial for Meditation Session

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a spiritual journey, arriving at the renowned Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, the southernmost tip of mainland India. This visit marks the culmination of his election campaign for the Lok Sabha election. Scheduled from the evening of May 30 to the evening of June 1, PM Modi will engage in a meditation session lasting approximately 45 hours at the Dhyan Mandapam, where Swami Vivekananda meditated 131 years ago.

Upon his arrival, PM Modi proceeded directly to the Bhagavathi Amman temple to offer prayers. Draped in a dhoti and a white shawl, he performed circumambulations around the sanctum sanctorum and received special blessings from the priests. Aarti was conducted, and PM Modi received temple prasad, including a shawl and a framed photograph of the deity.

PM Modi’s spiritual retreat follows a tradition of undertaking such journeys at the conclusion of election campaigns. Previously, in 2019, he visited Kedarnath, and in 2014, he visited Shivaji’s Pratapgarh.

Amidst the ongoing Lok Sabha election, held in seven phases starting from April 19 and with results scheduled for June 4, PM Modi and the BJP aim for electoral success surpassing their 2019 performance.

Enhanced security measures are in place for PM Modi’s visit, with 2,000 police personnel deployed to ensure his safety. The Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy also maintain vigilant surveillance during his stay.
