Amid the dense fog, several flights are getting delayed and amid this, a video went viral where a passenger is seen hitting the Indigo pilot while the latter announced a delay in the flight. The incident occurred on January 14 (Sunday) inside flight number 6E 2175 which was departing from Delhi to Goa at 1 pm.
The passenger is identified as Sahil Katariya, who was responsible for hitting the co-pilot named Anup Kumar. One can see in the video that while the captain was making the announcement, immediately a man wearing a yellow jumper runs to hit the captain. The passenger is then pulled behind by another man as commotion spreads inside the cabin. The flight attendant can be heard shouting out “You can’t do this; you can’t do this” as the man who caused the commotion heads back to his seat.
However, the security department has begun an investigation over the viral video. The Indigo airline has filed a complaint to the Delhi police and the police have assured appropriate action on the matter.
As per the government rules released in 2017, if any airline finds a passenger with rude behavior, the pilot has the authority to file the complaint which is to be investigated at max 30 days. After this the committee will decide and specify how long will the flyer will not be allowed to travel.
