Pakistan: Belgian Woman raped For 5 days, Found Abandoned In Islamabad

On August 14, Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, a 28-year-old Belgian woman was discovered on the streets of Islamabad with her hands bound behind her back. According to local media reports, the woman alleged that she had been raped over a period of five days, leading to the arrest of a suspect.

Samaa TV reported that the Belgian Woman was found abandoned by nearby residents who alerted the police. Authorities quickly responded, rescuing her and taking her to a hospital for a medical examination to assess her injuries.

The woman told the police that she had been assaulted by multiple men. Preliminary investigations appear to support her claims. A suspect named Tameezuddin has been arrested based on her statement. Pakistan Today revealed that Tameezuddin was taken into custody at his residence by Aabpara police officers. During questioning, Tameezuddin claimed that the woman was mentally unstable and lacked personal identification and travel documents.

Authorities are conducting further searches at Tameezuddin’s home to recover any items belonging to the Belgian Woman. Additionally, Tameezuddin is undergoing a medical examination at the same hospital where the victim is being treated.

Dawn reported that police were alerted to a woman abandoned on the roadside in Sector G-6/1-3. When they arrived, they found a young woman in her mid-20s who identified herself as a Belgian citizen. She stated that she had been living in Islamabad for about six months and accused a man she had been living with of repeatedly raping her.

The Belgian embassy in Islamabad had no record of the woman traveling to Pakistan. The case has been referred to the Netherlands mission due to her indicated residence near the border between the two countries. Assistance has also been sought from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), but they also lack records of the woman’s travel.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to verify the details of this Rape case and piece together the events leading up to the woman’s discovery.
