In the midst of a power struggle with his former deputy Sachin Pilot, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated that the media shouldn’t incite conflict.
He stated while addressing a press conference that the Congress’ election campaign in the state would centre on the initiatives and programmes put out by his administration. On the basis of the work accomplished over the previous five years, the seasoned Congress leader likewise oozed confidence that his party would win back the majority.
The context of Gehlot’s remarks is an ongoing conflict with Pilot. Since the Congress took office as the state’s government in Rajasthan in December 2018, the pair has been at odds about who will serve as the state’s chief minister.
“The media should stick to the truth and the facts… The media should not make us fight with each other. They (mediapersons) should fulfil their duty and it is in the public interest… The media should support the government in repeating on the basis of truth,” he said.
