A serious altercation between two parties over a mutual issue in Bohani village of Fagwara led to the death of a young man who was severely injured. The deceased, identified as Rupanjot Singh, a resident of Bohani, has passed away.
Following this incident, the family members of the deceased placed his body outside the Ravalpindi police station, demanding justice from the Fagwara police while protesting in anger. Speaking to journalists on this occasion, the father, brother, and other relatives of the deceased stated that for the past three months, they had been urging the police to take stringent action against the culprits but to no avail. Today, Rupanjot Singh has died, and they are seeking justice by leaving his body outside the Ravalpindi police station. Police officials are aware of the entire incident and the identity of the accused. However, there has been zero police action.
All family members expressed their anger, stating that they will not perform the last rites of the deceased Rupanjot Singh until the police take strict action and arrest all the culprits. Meanwhile, a police officer from Ravalpindi police station mentioned that the police have arrested one of the accused, Sukhbir Singh. The police are conducting raids to find the other suspects. The police case registered under Section 307 earlier has now been elevated to Section 302 for murder. However, contrary to the police argument, the affected party claimed that the police did not take any concrete action in the past three months regarding the case. Until the news was written, the police had taken control of the body of the deceased Rupanjot Singh and sent it to the mortuary at the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. Police investigation is ongoing.”
