To mark a special occasion, The Academy chose November 1—just after Diwali and the day before Shah Rukh Khan’s 59th birthday—to pay tribute to his unforgettable entry in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Karan Johar’s 2001 classic.
Celebrating SRK’s Legendary K3G Arrival
The Academy’s official Instagram account shared a video of the memorable Diwali scene set in the grand Raichand mansion. Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Rahul Raichand, makes a striking arrival by helicopter, landing in the courtyard with all eyes on him. As soon as he steps out, his mother, Nandini Raichand, played by Jaya Bachchan, instinctively senses his presence.
A Mother’s Intuition
Dressed in an elegant white sari by Manish Malhotra, Jaya’s character is performing an aarti (a ceremonial ritual with a lamp) for her husband, Yash Raichand, played by Amitabh Bachchan. Midway through, she is pulled towards the door by a strong maternal instinct. Meanwhile, SRK’s Rahul, dressed in a sleek black outfit, runs toward the house.
As Nandini doubts her initial feeling and turns away with a hint of sadness, she catches sight of Rahul entering the house with a knowing smile. He calls out, “Hey mom, how do you sense my presence every time before I arrive?” Her face lights up, and with teary eyes, she gently places a tilak on his forehead and caresses him lovingly.
“A Mother’s Intuition is Always Right”
The Academy captioned the video, “A mother’s intuition is always right,” accompanied by a sparkle emoji. They further engaged fans by asking in the comments, “Is this SRK’s best entry scene?” sparking nostalgia and admiration for this iconic cinematic moment.
