Recent intelligence reports, as cited by The Mirror, suggest that Hamza bin Laden, the son of the notorious Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, is alive and actively leading the terror group. According to the publication, Hamza is secretly directing Al Qaeda operations from Afghanistan, alongside his brother Abdullah bin Laden. The National Mobilisation Front (NMF), an anti-Taliban military alliance, has also provided a detailed account of Hamza’s activities and his security arrangements.
Hamza’s Location and Protection
The NMF report claims that Hamza, described as the “crown prince of terror,” is currently hiding in northern Afghanistan. He is reportedly under heavy guard, with 450 snipers protecting him. The NMF has warned that since the fall of Kabul in 2021, Afghanistan has become a significant training hub for various terrorist organizations.
The report reveals that Hamza has been relocated to the Dara Abdullah Khel district in Panjshir, where he is shielded by a large contingent of Arabs and Pakistanis. Under his leadership, Al Qaeda is said to be regrouping and preparing for potential future attacks on Western targets.
Contradicting Previous Reports
This new information challenges previous claims that Hamza was killed in a 2019 US airstrike. At that time, Hamza was believed to have been working closely with Ayman al-Zawahiri, who assumed leadership of Al Qaeda following Osama bin Laden’s death.
Earlier reports suggested Hamza’s death based on his audio and video messages, which called for attacks on the US and other nations. However, the exact time and place of his alleged death were never clearly established, and the Pentagon declined to comment on the matter.

Hamza bin Laden, who was officially designated a global terrorist by the US, was thought to have been under house arrest in Iran. He is believed to have been born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, before spending time with his mother in Iran.
His father, Osama bin Laden, was killed by US Special Forces in 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Osama bin Laden was the mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the US, which resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people.
