The South Korean military announced on Friday that North Korea has launched a ballistic missile toward the sea off its east coast.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea did not immediately disclose the projectile’s trajectory.
In recent months, North Korea has fired a variety of tactical rockets, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles, claiming the launches were a part of an effort to strengthen its defenses.
