In a strong statement at a meeting held on Sunday to discuss the upcoming 131st National Dussehra Fair, Fair President Vivek Rajvanshi declared that no one’s monopoly or bullying would be tolerated during this year’s event. Rajvanshi emphasized that all programs for the fair, set to begin on October 3, will be finalized by September 10. He made it clear that encroachments and illegal collections would be strictly prohibited to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar acknowledged the impact of mall culture on reducing public participation in traditional fairs and called for collaborative efforts to make the Dussehra Fair more attractive to the public. He assured that the state government would provide full support to ensure the fair’s success, leaving no stone unturned.
Other attendees, including former Women’s President Rambabu Soni, Anand Patni, and former Deputy Mayor Yogendra Khinchi Shahid, contributed valuable suggestions such as reviving the animal fair at Dussehra Ground, organizing additional cultural events, and improving publicity and logistical arrangements. The meeting also featured participation from key officials, including Kota South Municipal Corporation Commissioner Sarita, Kota North Municipal Corporation Commissioner Anurag Bhargav, and Fair Officer Jawaharlal Jain.
Among those present were Energy Minister Hiralal Nagar, MLA Sandeep Sharma, Mayor Rajiv Agarwal, Fair Committee members, councillors from both municipal corporations, former Mayor Mahesh Vijay, and other key figures including former Fair Chairman Anand Patni and Krishna Kumar Soni.
Mayor Rajiv Agarwal voiced his support, stating that with collective effort, Kota’s Dussehra Fair could gain national recognition.
