Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar convened with party members at his residence in Delhi on Sunday. The Janata Dal (United) is poised to join the BJP-led NDA government at the Center, and party members warmly welcomed Nitish Kumar ahead of the Union Council of Ministers’ swearing-in ceremony.
The Janata Dal-United secured 12 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar and holds significant importance as a member of the National Democratic Alliance.
Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi, along with his ministerial colleagues, will be sworn in at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening.
Members of Parliament who are expected to be appointed to the Council of Ministers attended a high tea event at the Prime Minister’s residence.
RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha emphasized that if Bihar leaders are acting as kingmakers, the people of Bihar also have certain expectations from them.
“If the leaders of Bihar (Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi) are playing the role of kingmaker, the people of Bihar also have some expectations from them…Special category status should be accorded to Bihar…A special package should be given to Bihar…Caste census should be conducted in the country,” Manoj Jha told ANI.
