Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani engaged in a fireside chat with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang regarding AI innovations and India’s emerging infrastructure in technology at the Nvidia AI Summit India held in Mumbai. The three-day-long summit was held at the Jio World Centre. Speaking about the venue, Ambani hailed his wife Nita for her vision behind it. At the opening dialogue, after Huang had described Ambani as an “industry pioneer” in India’s digital landscape, Ambani smiled and went on to say, “We are in what is the Jio World Centre, which is new; it was built by my wife. So, if I don’t say it’s built by my wife, I was instructed to say that,” bringing laughter upon Huang.
The Jio World Centre is a business, culture, entertainment, and retail hub spread over 18.5 acres in the heart of Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex. It houses space for the Dhirubhai Ambani Square, Jio World Convention Centre, Jio World Drive, and the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, a subject very close to Nita Ambani’s heart, with a phased opening commencing in 2021.
Besides the announcements, the summit also established that Nvidia is now partnering with Reliance Industries for improving their AI capabilities in India. The two will look to establish an AI computing infrastructure as well as a local innovation hub anchored by a major data center powered by Nvidia’s Blackwell AI chips. This effort will be enhanced, according to Ambani, through its contribution to the technological resources of India as well as strengthening its position within the global AI sector.
