Tata Motors has hinted at the release of a brand-new special edition of one of its SUVs this holiday season. With the new versions, it appears that the domestic manufacturer is attempting to raise the luxury bar. The Harrier, Safari, and Nexon will all receive the new special edition. Nexon EV could receive the latest edition in the future. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, though. Tata Motors would only add new features and cosmetic upgrades to the new models. None of the SUVs’ mechanical components will change.

The preview reveals that the SUVs have a dual-tone paint job with white roofs. The alloys are completely black. To distinguish the new edition from the ordinary varieties, there may be further aesthetic alterations as well, such as new badging.

ventilated front seats, auto-dimming rearview mirror, premium leather upholstery along with other features are expected to be added on. Expect the new edition to be based on the top-end version since these features are currently available on the top-end SUVS.

No mechanical changes have been adopted. The Harrier and Safari will have a 2.0-litre Fiat-sourced diesel engine. It is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter. The Nexon is available with both a petrol and a diesel engine.

Nevertheless, the Harrier must be revamped. A 360-degree camera-equipped test mule for the SUV was sighted. Along with this, it’s anticipated that the Harrier will also get ADAS and a new infotainment system with a larger and more sensitive touchscreen. The Safari will receive the same features as well. Tata Motors is also trialling a 1.5-liter petrol turbocharged engine for the Harrier and Safari. By the end of the year, the company should introduce the new engine-equipped SUVs.
