Nepal’s PM Prachanda Congratulates PM Modi For BJP’s Success In LS Polls 2024

Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the “electoral success” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections for the third consecutive term. He also praised the “enthusiastic participation” of the Indian people in the successful completion of the world’s largest democratic exercise.

In a post on X, ‘Prachanda’ stated, “Congratulations to PM @narendramodi on the electoral success of BJP and NDA in the Loksabha elections for the third consecutive term. We are happy to note the successful completion of the world’s largest democratic exercise with enthusiastic participation of the people of India.”

As the vote counting continues, the NDA, led by the BJP, is leading the opposition alliance, INDIA. Prime Minister Modi spearheaded the BJP’s campaign, participating in over 200 public events, including roadshows and rallies.

Vote counting commenced at 8 am amidst tight security, with the EVM vote count beginning thirty minutes after the postal ballot count. This year’s Lok Sabha election was the second-longest in India’s history, following the inaugural poll in 1951-1952. To form a government, a party or coalition must secure a majority of 272 seats.

“Our citizens in India have full faith in the party, and today’s victory is a victory of the people,” stated PM Modi on Tuesday evening.

According to the Election Commission of India, Prime Minister Modi secured victory over Congress candidate Ajay Rai by a margin of 1,52,513 votes. Most exit polls predicted a consecutive term for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with several projecting a two-thirds majority for the ruling BJP-led NDA.

The mammoth seven-phase election, regarded as the world’s largest democratic exercise, commenced on April 19 and concluded on Saturday.
