Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday took over as the new Chief Minister of Haryana. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan at 5 pm. Nayab Singh Saini, hailing from the Other Backward Class (OBC) category, is currently a Lok Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) representing Kurukshetra constituency.
Nayaab Singh’s political journey commenced in 1996 when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as an ally and continued the association until the year 2000. Subsequently, he assumed the role of District General Secretary of Yuva Morcha Bharatiya Janata Party in Ambala in 2002. In 2005, he progressed to become the District President of Yuva Morcha Bharatiya Janata Party.
Throughout his political career, Nayaab Singh has held various positions within the BJP. He served as the state general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Kisan Morcha, Haryana, in 2009. In 2012, he held the position of District President of Bharatiya Janata Party. Nayaab Singh secured a victory as an MLA from Narayan Garh Assembly in 2014, and in 2015, he assumed the role of Minister of State in the Haryana Government. His tenure as Kurukshetra MP began in 2019, and he currently holds the position of BJP State President in Haryana.
