Mumbai Police Investigate X User Over Hoax ‘Bomb At Ambani’s Wedding Post

The Mumbai Police ramped up security at the ongoing wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant following a suspicious post on X (formerly Twitter) that mentioned “a bomb” at the event. According to news reports, the post, which was ultimately a hoax, led to swift action from authorities to ensure the safety of the high-profile guests in attendance.

A senior police officer told HT on Sunday night that although the post was determined to be a hoax, the police did not take any risks. The post, made by an X user with the handle @FFSFIR, read, “A shameless thought crept into my mind that if a bomb went off at Ambani’s wedding, half the world would turn upside down. Trillions of dollars in one pin code.” This prompted the police to tighten security around the wedding venue after being alerted by a concerned netizen.

Reports indicate that the police are currently trying to identify the individual behind the post and understand their motive. While no FIR has been registered, an investigation is underway. A police officer stated, “The message has been taken as a hoax but the police team, which monitors social media posts, will definitely look into it.”

Enhanced security measures were implemented at the Jio World Convention Centre and its surrounding area in BKC to prevent any incidents.

In a separate incident related to the wedding, the police arrested two individuals who entered the venue without an invitation. Venkatesh Narasaiya Alluri (26), a YouTuber, and Lukman Mohammad Shafi Sheikh (28), who identified himself as a businessman, were detained after being spotted acting “suspiciously” by security officers. Both men were taken to a local police station and booked but were later released after receiving legal notices.
