Usha Thakur, the minister of tourism and culture for the state of Madhya Pradesh, has argued that rapists should be publicly hanged at intersections rather than cremated. She said, “Leave the carcasses for the eagle and crows.”

The minister gave her remarks after she met the family of four-year-old rape victim in the Khnadwa district on Thursday evening.”The state government has made a strict law against such acts that no rape accused will get relieved, they will be hanged. Seventy-two such offenders have been hanged in Madhya Pradesh so far,” Thakur told.

This week a little girl was allegedly raped and dumped in the bushes close to the Jaswadi neighbourhood in Khandwa. On Monday, the youngster vanished from her home. Her family members looked for her in the neighbourhood and reported her missing.

“He raped the girl and then threw her in the bushes. Such male vampires should be hanged at the crossroads and they should not be cremated either. I have also requested Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the same,” she added. The victim’s family was promised all support by the government.

On Monday morning, according to the police, they learned that a young child was missing from her home. After receiving a report of a missing person, the police began their search.

“The accused used to work at a Dhaba near the girl’s house. We traced and took him into custody. During interrogation, he said that he violated the girl and threw her in the bushes,” Khandwa Superintendent of Police (SP), Vivek Singh, said.

The police conducted a search of the area using the information and found the girl.
She was admitted to a hospital right away by the police, and for better care, she was subsequently sent to Bombay Hospital in Indore.
The SP added that the accused was detained by the police and that a complaint had been filed into the incident in accordance with sections 376 of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
