The entire country is in turmoil following the horrific case of the Kolkata doctor, which took place on the night of August 9. The incident has sparked widespread protests, with citizens and public figures alike condemning the crime and demanding justice. Among the latest to join the chorus of disapproval is veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who has voiced his grief and called for swift justice.

In a video shared on the official X account of BJP West Bengal (@BJP4Bengal), Mithun Chakraborty expressed his deep sorrow for the victim’s family and urged authorities to act quickly against those responsible. Speaking in Bengali, the actor described the situation in West Bengal as “terrible” and warned that it could worsen in the coming days. “I have been saying many times in many places that the situation in West Bengal will be very scary in the coming days… Being a Bengali, I can’t walk with my head up,” he said.

Mithun further added, “My condolences to the family of the deceased doctor. Those who are involved in this incident should be punished as soon as possible, this is my wish.” He also questioned the state’s law and order, highlighting the urgent need for action.

The video was accompanied by a tweet that read, “Atrocities such as the murder of female students in West Bengal, Mahaguru Mithun Chakraborty’s speech to protest against the insecurity of women and demand justice for Abhaya.”

Another prominent Bollywood figure, Shatrughan Sinha, also spoke out against the crime. In a post shared on his official social media, Sinha condemned the incident and expressed concern over doctors taking to the streets in protest. “Doctors coming out on the streets is not the most desirable thing,” he stated. He urged the government and society to address the demands of the doctors while also cautioning that the protests could harm those in need of immediate medical care. “But one humble request to the doctors coming out on the streets, this may harm the poor, needy people who need immediate care & may suffer,” the post concluded.

As the nation continues to reel from the impact of this tragic event, the calls for justice grow louder, with public figures like Mithun Chakraborty and Shatrughan Sinha leading the charge for accountability and change.
