With the objective of providing clean and inclusive sanitation facilities in the city, the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh starts rejuvenation work on four new aspirational public conveniences in the city.
City Mayor Anup Gupta and Anindita Mitra Municipal Commissioner formally started the renovation work at toilet block, Palika Bazar, Sector 19, here today in the presence of prominent persons from the local area. Aiming to enhance public sanitation and improve the overall quality of life for residents and visitors, this initiative is part of the ‘clean toilet campaign’.
While sharing information about the renovation of these four toilet blocks, the Mayor said that by initiating the construction of these public convenience facilities, the MCC aims to address the urgent need for accessible and well-maintained public toilets in key areas of the city. The chosen locations for this project, namely Sector-16, Sector-19 Palika Bazaar, Sector-46/b Mini Market, and Village Dhanas, were carefully selected to cater to the needs of local residents and ensure maximum convenience for all.
He said that today’s foundation stone-laying ceremony is a testament to the commitment of MCC to provide clean and hygienic public spaces for the citizens of the city. These aspirational public convenience facilities will not only address the immediate sanitation needs of the community but also contribute to the overall well-being and development of the city, he added
