Fashion designer Masaba Gupta is expecting her first child with actor Satyadeep Mishra. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Gupta shared her approach to self-care during pregnancy, highlighting how she finds comfort in Vikram Seth’s translation of the 100 Mandalas and the Hanuman Chalisa. These practices help her stay grounded after long workdays.
Gupta revealed that self-care has become a significant focus for her. She emphasizes taking care of her skin and belly with intention and has carefully adjusted her diet. Additionally, she has distanced herself from people who do not uplift her, opting instead to spend time with those who offer positive reinforcement. Gupta has also developed a system that allows her to step away from work when necessary without feeling guilty.
She addressed the common negative perceptions surrounding pregnancy and motherhood, expressing her desire to challenge these views. Gupta commented, “People often say, ‘Oh my God, your life is gonna change after a baby comes along,’ but they say it negatively. The whole point of having a baby is to embrace change.”
In June, Gupta shared her experience with body acne on Instagram, referring to the breakouts as ‘baby kisses.’ She described how the acne, which leaves marks every few weeks, troubled her initially but has now become a reminder of the newness of creation. She offered support to others going through similar experiences, acknowledging that hormonal changes can be challenging.
Gupta made her acting debut with the Netflix show ‘Masaba Masaba’ and also appeared in Prime Video’s anthology series ‘Modern Love: Mumbai’.
