When Priscilla Chan, wife of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, asked for a minivan as her next vehicle, Zuckerberg took her request to a whole new level. Instead of a typical family van, he collaborated with the renowned West Coast Customs to transform a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT SUV into a custom minivan, complete with electric sliding doors and an extended frame.

A Custom Duo: Matching His-and-Hers Porsches

Zuckerberg didn’t stop at just the minivan. While working on the customization of the Cayenne, he also had West Coast Customs modify a manual Porsche GT3 Touring in the same slate grey color. The result? A pair of his-and-hers vehicles—Priscilla’s unique minivan and Zuckerberg’s high-performance GT3. This dynamic duo now turns heads whenever they hit the road.

Zuckerberg shared his excitement about the project on Instagram, posting a selfie with the custom minivan. He captioned it: “New side quest. Priscilla wanted a minivan, so I’ve been designing something I’m pretty sure should exist: a Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Minivan. Threw in a manual GT3 Touring to make it his and hers. Thanks @porsche and @westcoastcustoms for helping to make this happen.”

Porsche’s History with Minivans

This isn’t Porsche’s first venture into minivan territory. Back in 2020, the German automaker unveiled the Porsche Vision ‘Renndienst,’ a concept minivan originally conceived in 2018. This family-friendly concept could seat up to six passengers while maintaining Porsche’s signature performance DNA. Although it remained a 1:1 scale model, the Renndienst offered a glimpse into what a Porsche minivan might look like, similar to Zuckerberg’s Cayenne-based creation.

Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe: A High-Performance Powerhouse

The 2024 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe, which served as the base for Zuckerberg’s minivan, is known for its exceptional performance. It holds five out of seven MotorTrend SUV performance records, including the fastest 0-60 mph and quarter-mile times. This powerhouse is powered by a 650-hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and features Porsche’s Sport Chrono package, launch control, torque-vectoring AWD, adaptive air suspension, and carbon-ceramic brakes. Starting at a base price of $197,950, the Cayenne Turbo GT Coupe can easily cross the $200,000 mark with optional extras.

For those seeking a more affordable option, the 2024 Porsche Cayenne S starts at $97,350 and offers a 468-hp twin-turbo V8, replacing the previous V6. Though there’s a slight decrease in fuel efficiency, it compensates with an additional 34 hp and 37 lb-ft of torque.

What began as a simple request for a minivan turned into a creative and high-performance venture, thanks to Mark Zuckerberg’s collaboration with West Coast Customs and Porsche. With their custom-designed his-and-hers cars, the Meta CEO and his wife now drive in style, blending family practicality with Porsche’s renowned performance.
