On Republic Day 2024, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde hoisted the national flag at his official residence, Varsha Bungalow, in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the nation on the 75th Republic Day, posting on X, “Best wishes on the special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!”

President Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in the extensive celebrations marking the Amrit Kaal, initiated after the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ commemorating 75 years of independence. The 90-minute parade will showcase the dominant themes of ‘Viksit Bharat,’ rich cultural diversity, ‘Aatmanirbhar’ military prowess, and the growing Nari Shakti. French President Emmanuel Macron will grace the event as the Chief Guest.

The ceremonial proceedings will feature a traditional display of the country’s defense forces, including impressive cavalcades, mechanized columns, state-of-the-art equipment, contingent marches, and a representation of diverse culture, showcasing unity amidst diversity.

Built upon the twin themes of ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,’ this year’s parade aims to include around 13,000 special guests, fostering Jan Bhagidari and inviting participation from various segments of society in the national festivities.

The Republic Day parade is scheduled to commence at 10:30 am, lasting approximately 90 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will initiate the ceremony with a visit to the National War Memorial, where he will lead the nation in paying solemn tributes to the fallen heroes by laying a wreath.
