Approximately 25 individuals sustained injuries when a bus operated by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) collided with a tree in the Pune district. The event occurred at Sahajpur Phata in Yavat village as the bus was en route from Pandharpur (in Solapur district) to Mumbai.
The accident took place around 1.30 pm near Yavat town in Daund taluka of Pune.
Three to four passengers additionally experienced significant injuries. The individuals who were wounded have been hospitalized at a private medical facility in Loni Kalbhor.
Narayan Deshmukh, Police Inspector of Yavat Police Station said, “There were close to 45 passengers in the bus. Around 25 passengers were injured after a state transport bus rammed into a tree near Sahajpur Phata in Yavat village. Three to four passengers received serious injuries and have been rushed to the hospital. An update on their condition is awaited.”
Explaining the incident the officer said, “To avoid hitting the truck from behind, the driver tried to change lanes and lost control. The bus hit a roadside tree as it veered off the road. After receiving information, teams from the police station rushed to the spot and helped shift the injured to nearby hospitals.”
