LS Polls 2024: Mahavir Singh Phogat Casts Vote In Haryana

Dronacharya awardee and wrestling coach Mahavir Singh Phogat cast his vote during the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha election in Haryana‘s Charkhi Dadri on Saturday.

Speaking to ANI, Mahavir Singh appealed to the voters to cast votes in large numbers.
“It feels good to cast our vote. I appeal to all the voters to cast their votes in large numbers…,” Mahavir Singh said.

Former Indian cricket players MS Dhoni, Kapil Dev, and Gautam Gambhir all cast ballots in their respective seats earlier in the day.
In this sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, voting is being conducted in 58 constituencies.
Ambala, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, Faridabad, Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, Sirsa, and Sonipat are the 10 Lok Sabha seats of Haryana.

In the state, 20,031 voting places have been established. Among them are 219 auxiliary and 19,812 permanent polling places. 14,342 polling places are located in rural areas, compared to 5,470 in metropolitan areas.

In the sixth round of the general elections, more than 11.13 crore people can cast ballots to choose from 889 candidates, including two previous chief ministers. Mehbooba Mufti is the PDP candidate from Anantnag-Rajouri, and Manohar Lal Khattar is running as the BJP candidate from Karnal.

Eight seats in Bihar, all ten in Haryana, one in Jammu & Kashmir, four in Jharkhand, all seven in Delhi, six in Odisha, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and eight in West Bengal are up for election in the sixth round of the Lok Sabha polls.
