Union minister Prahlad Joshi and former Karnataka’s chief minister Basavaraj Bommai have respectively won Dharwad and Haveri Lok Sabha seats on Tuesday.
The incumbent BJP candidate Pralhad Joshi has defeated congress’s candidate Vinod Asooti.
While, former Karnataka CM Bommai has managed to secure 7,05,538 votes, this 2024 lok sabha results.
Overall, in Karnataka, BJP has won 15 seats out of 28, and is currently leading on 2 seats.
Meanwhile, BJP’s ally Janata Dal (Secular), has currently won two seats. The opposition party congress has so far won 7 seats and is leading on 2 seats.
However, unlike 2019 Lok Sabha election, BJP led NDA is heading towards majority with reduced strength. And opposition INDIA bloc has put up a strong performance.
As per latest trends, BJP seems to fall short on simple majority. Hence, it is far from fulfilling its ‘400 Paar’ target.
