Bharatiya Janata Party’s Locket Chatterjee Raises Alarm Over Vote Rigging at Dhaniakhali Polling Booth” Bharatiya Janata Party MP Locket Chatterjee has voiced concerns about alleged vote rigging at a polling booth located in Mehandipur Primary School in Dhaniakhali, part of the Hooghly Lok Sabha constituency in West Bengal.
Speaking to reporters, Chatterjee highlighted issues at Ashima Patra’s booth, alleging previous incidents of EVM rigging and ongoing irregularities during her visit, where some individuals were reportedly protecting the rigging process. Earlier in the day, Chatterjee encountered a confrontation with a person claiming to be a polling agent at Dasghara High School, also in the Hooghly Lok Sabha Constituency, whom she accused of being a TMC agent without proper documentation.
Chatterjee further claimed instances of a Trinamool agent urging votes for her rival candidate from Hooghly, Rachana Banerjee, citing the involvement of an AASHA worker as a booth agent instructed to sway votes towards TMC.
Despite these allegations, higher officials behind these instructions remain untraceable, according to Chatterjee’s statements. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 witnessed the fifth phase, covering 49 parliamentary constituencies across six states and two Union Territories, commencing amidst stringent security measures and logistical arrangements.
