‘LinkedIn Nahi Tinder Hai Ye’: Woman Roasts IITian’s LinkedIn-Style Bio On Tinder

A woman recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a dating profile she encountered on Tinder that has since sparked widespread chatter across social media platforms. The reason? Instead of highlighting personality traits or personal interests, the Tinder user filled their bio with a list of academic achievements, leaving many users amused and baffled.

The Tinder profile, which has gone viral, belongs to a user who appears to be seeking a long-term partner. However, rather than offering insights into their hobbies or personality, the individual chose to outline their impressive academic credentials. The bio details accomplishments such as high percentages in Class 10 and 12, ranks in JEE Mains and Advanced, scholarships from NTSE and KVPY, and a B.Tech degree in Computer Science from IIT Bombay. The individual also mentioned their current employment at Infosys, and, rather unexpectedly, included their height at the end of the bio.

The unusual Tinder bio quickly caught the attention of social media users, many of whom couldn’t help but poke fun at the individual. Comments poured in, with many joking that the person seemed to have confused Tinder with LinkedIn. Some users quipped that the person should have also mentioned their salary package at Infosys, while others pointed out that the bio made it seem like the person’s entire personality revolved around academics.

“These IIT nerds should be banned from using dating sites. LinkedIn nahi Tinder hai yeh,” wrote the woman who shared the profile, clearly amused by the mix-up.

Since being shared on August 7, the post has garnered over 390,000 views, with the number steadily increasing. Reactions in the comments section ranged from playful jabs to light-hearted critiques.

One user commented, “Bros whole personality is academics,” while another added, “If all this impressive history at a prestigious institute doesn’t impress you… here’s my height,” poking fun at the inclusion of the person’s height after listing their academic qualifications.

A third user remarked, “Infosys! Bro forgot to write his package,” while a fourth commented, “He only studied for his whole life so what else could he have written under About Me.”

This isn’t the first time an unconventional bio on a dating app has gone viral. Earlier this year, a woman’s Bumble bio landed her a job reference at JP Morgan after she cheekily mentioned in the app’s “We’ll get along if…” section, “You know anyone who could get me into Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan.”

As the conversation around the viral Tinder profile continues, it serves as a reminder that while dating apps are meant for connecting with others on a personal level, sometimes an unexpected approach can lead to a moment of online fame—if not a successful match.
