British singer Liam Payne, who was once a member of the pop band One Direction, has sadly died after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina on Wednesday. He was 31 years old.
Police confirmed the tragic news, saying, “Liam James Payne, composer and guitarist, former member of the band One Direction, died today after falling from the third floor of a hotel.”
Alberto Crescenti, head of the city’s emergency medical service, said that Liam had “very serious injuries” from the fall, and there was no way to save him. Emergency workers arrived quickly but were unable to help.
The emergency call was made at 5:04 PM, and medical teams arrived at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires just seven minutes later. Sadly, they confirmed his death soon after arriving.
When the news broke, fans and people nearby gathered outside the hotel, deeply upset by the loss. Meanwhile, tributes to the singer began pouring in on social media.
Before his death, Liam shared a final post on Snapchat from his hotel room, wishing fans “good morning.” He also shared a view from his window, a photo of his meal, and a mirror selfie with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Fans have been sharing these moments, heartbroken by his sudden passing.
