Kolkata Doctor Rape-Murder: Sanjay Roy Confessions To Jail Guards

Sanjay Roy, the prime suspect in the Kolkata doctor’s rape and murder case, is expected to undergo a polygraph test on Sunday. Previously, Roy had confessed to the crime but has now reversed his stance, asserting his innocence and claiming that he is being framed.

Sanjay Roy reportedly told jail guards that he had no knowledge of the crime. His earlier confession to the police involved the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor inside the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Contradictory Statements and Investigations

Despite Roy’s new claims, both the CBI and local police have identified significant discrepancies in his statements. According to an officer, Roy has failed to account for injuries on his face and his presence in the building during the crime. CCTV footage shows Roy in the vicinity of the crime scene shortly before the murder occurred.

On Friday, Sanjay Roy reiterated his claim of innocence in a court appearance, agreeing to the polygraph test to clear his name. However, the test scheduled for Saturday was postponed due to technical issues and is now anticipated to take place on Sunday.

Security and Profiling

Sanjay Roy remains in a high-security cell, monitored closely by CCTV cameras. Recent psychological evaluations describe him as a pervert with severe pornography addiction, and he has shown no remorse for his alleged actions. A CBI officer revealed that Roy provided detailed accounts of the crime without any sign of regret.

Background of the Crime

The victim was discovered raped and murdered in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9. Prior to her death, she had entered the hall to rest during a grueling 36-hour shift. The autopsy revealed that she sustained 16 external injuries and 9 internal injuries. CCTV footage from the night of the incident shows Roy entering the building and later being observed staring at the victim and other doctors.

Ongoing Investigation

The CBI continues to investigate, having questioned over 15 individuals, including police officers and civic volunteers, as part of their efforts to unravel the case.
