American reality TV stars Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian were prominent guests at the wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai from July 12 to 14.

Kim recently shared photos from the festivities on Instagram, showcasing her attire designed by Manish Malhotra—a white and golden lehenga and choli ensemble. However, controversy arose when Kim initially posted a photo posing with a Ganesha idol, which she later deleted following criticism.

According to a Reddit post, Kim’s now-deleted photo sparked backlash for using the Hindu deity as a prop in her photoshoot at the Ambani wedding. The caption on her revised Instagram post now reads, “Diamonds and pearls for the Ambani wedding.”

Redditors reacted strongly to Kim’s original post, with one commenter stating, “Not Kim using Ganesha as a prop for her trashy photo ops.” Another remarked, “She removed it good for her,” reflecting on Kim’s decision to delete the controversial image.

Kim and Khloe Kardashian’s presence at the wedding festivities drew attention, particularly their embrace of traditional Indian attire and customs. They arrived in Mumbai on July 11, receiving a traditional arti ceremony and later exploring the city in autorickshaws adorned with bindis. Their participation in the multi-day celebrations included attending Anant and Radhika’s traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on July 12, where Kim wore a dazzling red lehenga embellished with sequins, tassels, and intricate beadwork, making a notable statement with their fashion choices.
