Kamal Hassan To Declare An Alliance In 2 days

In the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, Makkal Needhi Maiam president and actor Kamal Hassan stated on Monday that an alliance announcement would be made within two days.
While speaking to the media at Chennai International Airport, the MNM president predicted a “good opportunity” for the parliamentary polls, adding that election preparations are progressing smoothly.

“In two days I will meet you with good news. Works for the Parliament election are going well and hoping for a good opportunity. Regarding the alliance will announce the decision in two days,” Kamal Hassan said.

Kamal Hassan arrived at Chennai Airport on Monday morning after completing preparations for his upcoming film ‘Thug Life’ in the United States.
Earlier in September last year, DMK leader and Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin intimated that his party will join forces with Hassan’s MNM ahead of the parliamentary polls.

“The party leaders will decide on the alliance (with Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam party) at the time of the elections,” Udhayanidhi Stalin had said.

Also, Kamal Hassan defended Udhayanidhi Stalin during the ‘Sanatana Dharma’ issue, claiming that a little child (Udhayanidhi) was persecuted simply for speaking about Sanatana.

Hassan founded MNM in 2018, but it lost in the 2019 Lok Sabha and 2021 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

MNM later backed the ruling DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance candidate in Erode’s by-polls.

Hassan was also spotted accompanying Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which arrived in Tamil Nadu earlier in December 2022.
