The principal of a government school in Kaithal district, Ravi Kumar, has been suspended and arrested for allegedly sexually harassing four female students. This incident follows a similar case in Haryana a month ago, where the principal of a government girls’ school in Jind district, Kartar Singh, was arrested and suspended for similar charges. The Kaithal district education officer took action based on a preliminary inquiry report, placing Ravi Kumar under suspension under the Haryana Civil Services rules. The inquiry committee, formed by the education department, faced protests during their visit to the school, prompting intervention from the Haryana State Commission for Women. The commission ensured prompt action, and Ravi Kumar was arrested under relevant sections of the IPC and the POCSO Act. Investigations are being carried out by a special investigation team and the education department.
