Popular actor and TV host Shekhar Suman, who recently joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), emphasized his commitment to contributing to a developed India. Speaking to ANI, Suman stated that he entered the party with a clear conscience and a willingness to fulfill his social responsibility in building a prosperous nation. He expressed his belief in the importance of actively participating in the system to drive positive change.
Suman thanked the BJP leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Vinod Tawde, Anil Baluni, JP Nadda, and Anurag Thakur, for welcoming him into the party fold. In a press conference in Delhi, he reflected on his decision to join politics, highlighting the need for action over mere words. Despite his earlier electoral defeat in 2009 under the Congress banner, Suman expressed his determination to contribute meaningfully to his new political journey.
Notably, Suman recently garnered attention for his role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” on Netflix, portraying the character of Zulfiqar Ahmed. Alongside Suman, former Congress leader Radhika Khera also joined the BJP, receiving a warm welcome from the party’s national president JP Nadda.
