J&K DGP offers Rs. 10 Lakh reward for information on target killing perpetrators

The newly-appointed Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir, RR Swain, has taken a resolute stance against the recent targeted killings in the Union Territory. In an unwavering commitment to bringing those responsible to justice, he has announced a substantial reward of Rs 10 lakh for individuals who come forward with information related to these heinous acts.
The recent wave of violence included the targeted killing of a non-local laborer, a police constable, and the critical injury of a police inspector in the Eidgah area of Srinagar, where Inspector Masroor Ali now fights for his life. Additionally, non-local laborer Mukesh Kumar in Trumchi Nowpora, Pulwama, and Head Constable Gulam Mohammad in Wailoo Uralpora, Pattan, fell victim to unidentified terrorists.
Director General Swain in a statement made it clear that no one involved in these acts of violence will escape justice. He stressed the urgency of the situation and emphasized that they are on the cusp of solving these three cases, providing hope for swift closure and accountability.
Moreover, Swain issued a stern warning to individuals who have aided terrorists by providing them with resources such as vehicles and phones, offering shelter, or assisting in any way. Such individuals will be subject to rigorous legal actions and penalties.
Director General RR Swain assumed his role as the 17th Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir just recently, taking over from former DGP Dilbag Singh, who retired on October 31. In this challenging environment, he has demonstrated his commitment to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and security of the region’s residents. His strong leadership and determination in the face of adversity serve as a beacon of hope for a peaceful and secure Jammu and Kashmir.
