At the 47th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced the launch of Jio Brain, a comprehensive suite of AI tools and platforms developed by Jio. This initiative aims to streamline the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across the company, marking a significant step in Jio’s mission to bring the benefits of AI to every Indian, everywhere.
Ambani emphasized Jio’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technologies to enhance scalability, efficiency, and customer service. “At Jio, we have always been at the forefront in leveraging cutting-edge technologies for faster scaling, higher efficiency, and superior customer service. And now, AI has become integral to everything we do,” he stated.
Jio Brain will play a crucial role in accelerating AI adoption within the company, driving faster decisions, more accurate predictions, and a deeper understanding of customer needs. “We have rapidly augmented our talent and capabilities, embracing the latest in Generative AI. And we are embedding AI into all our processes and offerings, creating end-to-end workflows with real-time, data-driven insights and automation. This is helping us deliver smarter, more responsive services, to both internal users and customers,” Ambani added.
Jio Brain’s Impact on AI Accessibility and Infrastructure
Ambani highlighted the broader vision behind Jio Brain, which aligns with Jio’s “AI Everywhere For Everyone” initiative. The goal is to democratize AI, making powerful AI models and services accessible to everyone in India at the most affordable prices.
To support this vision, Jio plans to establish gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers in Jamnagar, powered entirely by Reliance’s green energy initiatives. The company also intends to create multiple AI inference facilities that will be scaled up to meet the growing demand.
Additionally, Jio has announced partnerships with leading global technology companies to bring the most advanced AI models, solutions, and tools to India. “By leveraging our expertise in infrastructure, networking, operations, software, and data, and by collaborating with our global partners, our goal is to create the world’s lowest AI inferencing cost, right here in India. This will make AI applications in India more affordable than anywhere else, making AI accessible to all,” Ambani said.
Commitment to Privacy and Security
Ambani also addressed concerns regarding privacy and security, assuring that all AI models and services will be hosted within India’s borders. These services will comply fully with Indian data and privacy regulations, ensuring the protection of citizens’ security and privacy.
The launch of Jio Brain marks a significant milestone in RIL’s journey toward AI-driven innovation, with the potential to transform not only the company but also the broader landscape of AI accessibility in India.
