Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance voted in person on Tuesday morning in the highly anticipated US Presidential Election, CNN reported. Vance cast his ballot at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he was joined by his wife, Usha Vance, and their children. Appearing upbeat, the Ohio senator and running mate of former President Donald Trump shared his appreciation for those participating in what he called “one of the great traditions in American democracy.”

“I feel good; you never know until you know, but I feel good about this race,” Vance commented, drawing a comparison to his own previous Senate race, where he also voted at the same Cincinnati location. “Hopefully, it goes as well for President Trump and me as it did for me a couple of years ago in Ohio,” he added.

As polling opens across 34 states, this election is being hailed as one of the most consequential in recent years, with implications for the direction of both domestic and global affairs over the next four years. Notably, voters in five key swing states Arizona, Wisconsin, Georgia, Michigan, and Pennsylvania are casting ballots in races that could determine the ultimate outcome. Voting hours vary by state, though most polling locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. Polls in some states, including Georgia, will begin closing at 7 p.m. ET, with Hawaii and Alaska wrapping up at midnight ET.

The competition between the two major parties has captured significant national and international attention, with the Democratic candidate, incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, aiming to break new ground by potentially becoming the first female and first Indian-origin US President. Meanwhile, Trump seeks to make history by becoming the first president in more than a century to serve two non-consecutive terms.

With polls showing a neck-and-neck race between Trump and Harris, projected leads remain within a narrow margin, setting the stage for an election night that is expected to be closely watched across the country and around the world.
