Jay Shah Announces: IPL 2025 Players To Earn ₹7.5 Lakhs Per Match, ₹12.6 Crore for Fees

BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced on his social media pages that the players will garner a match fee of INR 7.5 lakhs per game, added to their contracts, potentially to the tune of INR 1.05 crores.

Jay Shah, also the President of the Asian Cricket Council and the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), said that every franchise will now have to contribute INR 12.60 crores for the match fee per season.

“In a first-ever move to commemorate the spirit of consistency and the pinnacle of excellence in the performances in IPL, we are happy to announce that match fee of INR 7.5 lakhs per game for our cricketers! A cricketer playing all league matches in a season will get Rs. 1.05 crores besides his contracted amount,” he added.

“Each franchise will allocate INR 12.60 crores as match fee for the season! This is a new era for the #IPL and our players,” he added further.

As of now, IPL players draw money based on their respective contracts that are awarded to them via an auction or retention besides getting a share of the Player of the Match award if they are included in the playing XI.

Players are likely to reap more from match-fees than their predecessors, as uncapped and younger players-including the U-19 stars-typically enter deals at lower packages. In this new deal, the IPL has provided additional Rs 7.5 lakh per game for young talent as part of its IPL benefit package.
