In a heartfelt tribute to our fallen heroes and a resounding salute to the valiant police martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the motherland, police organised a series of events under the banner of ‘Police Flag Day Week-2023.’ These initiatives include the ‘Run for Unity’ event and a seminar on National Security, cultural programmes, band shows and debates.
Police organised a mini-marathon, ‘Run for Unity’ at the directions of SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS. The event started from Main Market Kangan & culminated at Government Degree College Kangan in which school students and youth of the District participated with huge fervour & enthusiasm. In addition to this, PRIs, Officers and other police officials also participated in the event. It is pertinent to mention here that the police is organising different sports events like volleyball, cultural programs, singing competition, mini marathon & other co-curricular activities in the District Ganderbal for a week-long period. These different events will culminate on 31 October. The winner will be awarded with cash prizes and mementoes.
In a series of diverse programs aimed at fostering a spirit of patriotism and unity, a lecture on the topic of “National Security” was organised at District Police Lines in Awantipora. The aim of organising such an event is to spread the message of the spirit of patriotism, and unity and to remember the sacrifices of police martyrs for their courage, valour and sacrifices made for the unity and integrity of the nation. On this occasion, CO 110 BN CRPF Shri Yogesh Purohit, CO 185 BN CRPF Shri Arun Kumar Bharti delivered lectures, and SP DAR Shri Hilal Khaliq-JKPS attended the programme on behalf of SSP Awantipora. The speakers enlightened the audience about the different facts and the internal & external threats to national security and the future road ahead.
Police in Kulgam organised cultural programmes and band shows at prominent public places including Main Market Kulgam and Qazigund in which participants participated with huge enthusiasm. The local artists, musicians and singers participated in the cultural programmes which included Kashmiri folk songs, Kashmiri Ruff and patriotic songs. A band show was also performed by District Police Kulgam & the audience watched the show with great enthusiasm.
Moreover, Kulgam Police organised multiple debate competitions in educational institutions throughout the district under the theme ‘The role of police in national building’. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd position holders were rewarded with suitable cash prizes and medals.
