Donald Trump’s Hush Money trial has made history, marking him as the first former US president convicted of felony charges. On Thursday, after a seven-week trial, a New York jury found him guilty of falsifying documents to hide a payment intended to silence a porn star before the 2016 election. Notably, Ivanka Trump, who has largely stayed out of her father’s political activities recently, reacted to the verdict by posting a throwback picture on social media. The photo, showing a young Trump holding Ivanka, was captioned “I love you Dad” with a heart emoji. This public display, her first since the trial began, suggests that despite Trump’s conviction on all 34 counts, his family remains firmly supportive.
Ivanka Trump ‘fully supportive’ of her dad
In 2022, when asked about her involvement in Trump’s 2024 presidential bid, Ivanka stated she would not be engaging in politics this time, choosing instead to focus on her young children and family. The 42-year-old, who previously served as a senior advisor in Trump’s administration and as Director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship, reaffirmed her support for her father.
A source told The Post, “Ivanka is fully supportive of her dad and loves him very much despite his conviction.” The verdict was delivered around 5 p.m. by the Manhattan Supreme Court after two days of deliberation. During the seven weeks of the “controversial” trial, adult actress Stormy Daniels and former Trump lawyer and “fixer” Michael Cohen testified against Trump, making several shocking allegations. The former president was accused of covering up a $130,000 payment to Daniels to suppress potential sex scandals that could have jeopardized his 2016 campaign.
