Italy Fines OpenAI €15M Over ChatGPT Data Privacy Violations

Italy’s data protection authority, Garante, has fined OpenAI €15 million ($15.6 million) following an investigation into the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT. The probe revealed multiple privacy violations, including the collection of personal data without a proper legal basis and a lack of transparency in informing users about data usage.
