The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) successfully recovered the corpse of Corporal Noa Marciano, a member of the Combat Intelligence Collection Corps 414th unit, from the Gaza Strip, according to The Times of Israel. The action was carried out by troops from the 7th Armoured Brigade’s 603rd Battalion near Shifa Hospital.
The recovery was facilitated by intelligence from the Shin Bet security agency, and Marciano’s body has been brought back to Israel for identification. This comes at a critical juncture as the IDF continues its efforts to uncover terror infrastructure within the hospital complex.
Marciano, aged 19, was stationed at the Nahal Oz IDF base when it was attacked by Hamas terrorists during the assault on southern Israel on October 7. Tragically, she became a hostage during the incident.
Hamas released a propaganda video featuring Marciano, recorded four days after her capture, where she identified herself and recited details about her family and hometown. The video ended with footage of her lifeless body.
Additionally, CNN reported the discovery of another Israeli hostage, Yehudit Weiss, near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza. Weiss was abducted from the kibbutz of Be’eri on October 7. The IDF found her body in a structure near the medical facility, and details about her cause of death remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, IDF operations in Gaza continue, with airstrikes on Hamas targets and continuous efforts to find terror tunnels within hospital complexes.
