IndiGo Flight: Delhi-Bagdogra Delayed 4 Hours Due To High Ground Temperatures

An IndiGo flight scheduled from Delhi to Bagdogra faced a nearly 4-hour delay on Monday at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The delay was attributed to a technical issue caused by soaring ground temperatures amid Delhi’s ongoing heatwave, where temperatures have soared to around 45°C.

Initially slated for a 2:10 PM departure, flight 6E 2521 eventually took off around 6:15 PM, as indicated by flight tracking platform FlightRadar24. The flight was expected to arrive in Bagdogra at 4:10 PM but was significantly delayed.

In response to inquiries, an IndiGo spokesperson stated, “The delay of IndiGo flight 6E 2521 from Delhi to Bagdogra was due to high ground temperatures affecting operational readiness. Ensuring passenger safety remains our top priority, and we are actively working to facilitate a swift departure. Passengers have been receiving regular updates, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond our control.”

Bagdogra Airport, situated near Siliguri in West Bengal, serves as a key gateway to the region, and the delayed flight underscores the challenges posed by extreme weather conditions during operational scheduling.
